Hawaiian Banana Chocolate Bread

Banana, applesauce and pineapple together make this bread super moist and tangy. Walnuts and chocolate chips add extra goodness and yumminess.

¼ cup applesauce
natural unsweetened

1 cup bananas
mashed

4 ounces pineapple
crushed, drained

Directions

Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃).

Combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl.

Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Set aside.

Mix together egg, oil, applesauce, bananas, pineapple and vanilla extract.

Add to flour mixture, stirring just until batter is moistened and incorporated.

Spoon batter into 1 well greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

Bake for about 1 hour or until a wooden stick inserted into center comes out clean.

Cool 10 minutes in pan on wire rack.

Remove from pan to wire rack and let cool completely.

Slice into slices and serve.

The bread can be frozen in a freezer safe zip-lock bag for up to 1 month.
