Applesauce White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Use some applesauce to replace butter, which makes these chocolaty cookies moist-like cake in the inside, and still chewy on the outside. Whole wheat flour adds some fibre, and white chocolate chips give extra creaminess.

Ingredients

59 ml applesauce
30 ml butter
melted
30 ml olive oil
or canola oil
158 ml brown sugar

1 large eggs
5 ml vanilla extract
237 ml whole-wheat flour
118 ml cocoa powder
unsweetended
2.5 ml baking soda
1.3 ml salt
173.4 ml/g white chocolate chips
1 cup

Directions

Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃).

In large mixer bowl, add applesauce, butter, oil, brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract.

Whisk until well combined.

Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.

Add into liquid mixture, stirring until just incorporated and moistened.

Stir in white chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake for 9 to 10 minutes.

Cool on pan on wire rack for a few minutes.

Remove cookies to wire rack. Cool completely.

Makes about 2½ dozen cookies.
