Directions
Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃).
Grease and flour 2 9x5-inch loaf pans.
Sift flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, soda and salt into mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Mix egg and milk; add all at once to flour mixture.
Stir just until moistened.
Combine topping ingredients except for margarine.
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Place half of batter in baking pans.
Sprinkle on half the topping and chocolate chips.
Then top with remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining topping and chips.
Bake 45 to 60 minutes.
Cool 15 minutes in pans on wire rack.
Remove from pans and cool completely.
