Great, very easy recipe. I'm a horrible cook, but this was so simple and so delicious, that now I can't figure out for the life of me what is the point of pancake mix?

Ingredients

1 cup flour, all-purpose
1 large eggs
1 tablespoon butter
or margarine, melted
cups milk
teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
* not incl. in nutrient facts

Directions

Sift the dry ingredients together, add the egg and mix it in until it is almost absorbed. Add the milk and mix until semi-smooth. Mix in the melted butter/margarine.

It should make about 5 pancakes 7 inches in diameter. Use less sugar if you like to use a lot of syrup.

These were wonderful! I liked that it did not make a large batch. Just enough for 2 people. I won't waist my money on pre-made mix again!

This recipe is always one of top printed pancake recipes. Finally yesterday we made these pancakes for breakfast. Hmm, they were so good, nicely browned on the outside, soft and warm in the inside. We had them with some maple syrup, heavenly delicious. It's quick, easy and tasty, an ideal breakfast or brunch recipe.

That's a very good american pancake recipe. But it should be better if you put only one spoon of sugar.

Great recipe, but I agree with only 1 tbsp sugar not 3, also tastes even better with some blueberrys or chocolate chips in there!

Glad to hear that you love these pancakes, and we should test it out too, sounds very easy to make. Good idea that add chocolate chips or berries!

I used this as a guide but adapted it a bit -- I followed the less sugar advice, increased the proportion of egg slightly and added buttermilk powder -- a little over 1 TB. They came out great. Thanks for the recipe.

The flapjacks were surrounded by hungry toddlers when all of a sudden jesus descended from the heavens surround by his entourage of exotically flavored syrups.
