blessed and thankful
I love to create and prepare nutritious and comforting meals for my family. It is so much fun to give them a meal that is linked to a childhood memory or reminds them of a triip we have taken or something else we have done together.
I also really enjoy baking tasty treats for the college students at the college where my sister and father work. It is important for them to have a taste of homebaked goods to remind them that they are valued and loved, even when they are far away from home!
My own diet restrictions and those of other family members have led me to create gluten-free dishes. I am known for making gluten-free desserts, especially a cereal bar that we like to call "crack bars".
I love to cook breakfast dishes for my family! Although I think my favorite dish to prepare for my family is pizza. Each week we have family night when we watch a movie while eating personal pizzas and a special dessert. My mom and I make the pizza together from scratch and it is a really special time. We often invite friends over and they help too! We share stories and laughter while we do the "kitchen dance" (what we call trying to fit a bunch of people in the limited space of our kitchen and have them each working on the meal).
I love to eat Mexican food - escpecially vegan tamales!
My favorite restaurant is First Watch. They are really good about working with my special diet needs. A close second for me is a local restaurant called Missouri Mud. It is a Greek Deli and Coffee Bar! I love their peanut butter cup french press!
