Directions
Heat oven to 350℉ (180℃).
Grease square pan, 9x9x1 ¾. Mix flour, sugar, salt, egg yolks, butter and lemon rind.
Divide mixture in two parts; press one part in bottom of greased pan.
Mix applesauce, cinnamon, cloves and spread on top of dough in pan.
Sprinkle rest of dough over applesauce, bake 40 to 45 minutes or until it tests done.
Serve warm topped with whipped cream, Ice cream or lemon sauce.
