Ingredients

6 each green tomatoes
chopped

6 each apples
tart, chopped
1 cup currants
1 cup raisins, seedless
3 teaspoons cinnamon
ground
1 teaspoon cloves
ground
½ teaspoon allspice

½ teaspoon ginger
ground
*
¼ cup vinegar
1 tablespoon orange zest
grated
½ cup orange juice
unsweetened

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy pot. Simmer until thick.

Makes about 3 quarts.

Freeze mincemeat in one-cup portions.
