Easy to make one pot classic. Chicken and broccoli in a creamy mushroom soup base.

Ingredients

4 ounces noodles
medium
2 ½ cups chicken
chopped, cooked
½ cup onions
chopped
10 ounces broccoli florets
10 ounces cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
skim, at room temperature
½ cup swiss cheese
shredded
1 teaspoon basil

to taste

black pepper
freshly ground, to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 350℉ (180℃). Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain.

Prepare the bottom of a 2½-quart casserole dish lightly with cooking spray.

In a mixing bowl, combine noodles, chicken, onions, and broccoli.

In another mixing bowl, combine soup, milk, cheese, basil, salt, and pepper. (The canned soup already has lots of salt, so don't add too much salt in). Stir in noodle mixture.

Pour entire mixture into prepared dish. Bake, covered for 40 minutes.

I tried this and one thing is very evident - you must par boil the broccoli before adding it to the rest of the ingredients.

Par-boil the broccoli if you must but there's nothing worse than overcooked mushy broccoli, that's why most kids hate broccoli, it's been cooked to death. If anything just blanch the broccoli for one minute in boiling water.
