Directions

In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

Cut in butter or margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a small mixing bowl stir together egg, applesauce, and molasses; stir into flour mixture just until moistened.

Stir in raisins.

Turn into a greased and floured 8x8x2-inch baking pan.

Bake in a 350℉ (180℃) oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in the pan 15 minutes.

Remove from pan, if desired.

Combine powdered sugar and lemon juice; spread over warm cake.

Serve warm or cool.
