1½ hrsFresh grated apples keep this quick bread incredibly moist while adding natural sweetness and a tender crumb that’s almost cake-like.
Chopped pecans scattered throughout provide a satisfying crunch in every slice, making this bread substantial enough for breakfast or a snack.
The cinnamon-sugar topping caramelizes in the oven to create a sweet, slightly crispy crust that contrasts beautifully with the soft interior.
Kitchen Tips
- Grate apples just before mixing to prevent browning (no need to peel them first)
- Let the baked bread cool in the pan for exactly 10 minutes before removing for easier handling
- Use buttermilk for extra tenderness and a subtle tangy flavor that balances the sweetness
- Serve warm with softened butter for an irresistible treat, or cool completely for cleaner slicing
