Chocolate Dream Drops
Submitted by Wilson
Soft chocolate drop cookies with cream cheese baked right into the dough and crunchy walnuts in every bite. The cream cheese keeps them tender and slightly tangy for days.

35 minThe secret weapon in these drop cookies? Cream cheese. Mixed right into the dough alongside the butter, it creates a texture that’s soft, slightly puffy, and stays tender long after baking.
Melted unsweetened baking chocolate gives them a deep, honest chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. Chopped walnuts scattered throughout add a welcome crunch against all that softness.
They bake fast. Eight minutes and done. Drop them by spoonfuls, pull them from the oven when they’re barely set, and let them finish firming up on the sheet.
Kitchen Tips
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature so it creams smoothly without lumps
- Pull the cookies at 8 minutes even if they look slightly underdone. They firm up as they cool and you’ll get that chewy center
- Melt and cool the chocolate before adding so it doesn’t seize up when it hits the cold cream cheese
