Here’s a quick little sandwich that balances sweet and savory in a few minutes flat. Grated apple gets mixed with cheese spread, butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper, so the fruit’s sweetness plays against the salty, creamy cheese in every bite.

Grating the apple rather than slicing it is the smart move; it spreads evenly and blends right into the cheese, so you don’t get awkward slices sliding out of the sandwich. The mixture goes between slices of bread, crusts trimmed, then cut into tidy triangles.

It’s the kind of fuss-free bite that works for an afternoon snack, a lunchbox, or a simple tea sandwich.

Kitchen Tips

  • Grate the apple just before mixing so it doesn’t brown, or toss it with a little lemon juice.
  • Pat the grated apple dry if it’s very juicy so the sandwich doesn’t go soggy.
  • A few grinds of black pepper balance the sweetness; don’t skip it.

Variations

  • Use sharp cheddar or a tangy cream cheese in place of cheese spread.
  • Add a few toasted walnuts or a drizzle of honey.
  • Make it on whole-grain or raisin bread for more flavor.

Ingredients

8 Brown Bread slices
1/2 Apple (grated)
1 tsp Butter
1 tsp Cheese spread
Pinch of Black Pepper powder
Salt to taste

Directions

Cut the bread slice edges.

Mix grated apple, butter, cheese spread, black pepper powder and salt.

Apply apple mixture to a bread slice and cover it with another slice.

Cut the sandwiches into triangles and serve.
