This is the definition of a set-it-and-forget-it dinner. Chicken breasts go into the slow cooker with cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup, and that’s it. Walk out the door, go live your life, and come home to tender, fall-apart chicken swimming in a rich, creamy gravy.

Serve it over chicken-flavored Rice-a-Roni for maximum comfort food energy. The gravy soaks into the rice and honestly the whole plate tastes like someone spent hours on it.

Five ingredients. No chopping, no browning, no stirring. This is busy-night cooking at its most honest.

Kitchen Tips

  • Low and slow is the move here; 10 hours on LOW yields the most tender chicken
  • Start the Rice-a-Roni about 25 minutes before serving so everything comes together hot
  • Shred the chicken right in the slow cooker with two forks for a pulled-chicken style that soaks up more gravy
  • Add a splash of milk to the soup mixture if you like an even thinner, pourable gravy
