Foolproof apple custard pie recipe with tender sliced apples. The apples and custard are cooked stovetop to ensure creamy results.

peeled, sliced

Directions

Combine egg yolks and sugar.

Add butter, apples and vanilla; stir to mix.

Place over boiling water in double boiler, stirring constantly until thickened.

Pour into pie crust.

Bake at 350℉ (180℃). for 20 minutes.
