Similar to Chicken Tikka Masala this traditional Indian butter chicken recipe is one of the most popular curries at any Indian restaurant around the world. Butter Chicken is quite easy to make.

Directions

Pre heat oven to 375℉ (190℉).

Fry the onions, garlic and ginger in 1 tablespoon of butter until the onions are caramelized over meduim heat.

Add the garam masala spice mix and cayenne pepper and cook until aromatic; about 1 minute.

Add the remaining butter and permit it melt. Add the tomato purée, cream, salt and pepper. As soon as it starts to boil, reduce the heat so that the sauce will maintain a simmer.

Cover and leave to simmer for about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the chicken breasts into cubes approximately 1 inch (25mm) pieces, toss with olive oil and the balti masala paste and bake in the pre heated oven until cooked though, about 15 minutes.

Add the chicken to the sauce and simmer for a few minutes.

Serve with Basmati rice.
