These are basically a buttery sugar cookie base with crushed frosted flakes mixed in for sweetness and crunch. Then melted semi-sweet chocolate gets drizzled over the dough and swirled through with a knife, giving each cookie those signature marbled “tiger stripes."
Every cookie comes out looking a little different, which is half the fun.
They bake up golden with crispy edges, a chewy middle, and pockets of chocolate running through. Two dozen cookies, about 30 minutes start to finish.
Pro Tips
- Crush the frosted flakes in a zip-lock bag with a rolling pin. You want small pieces, not dust, so a few good whacks is all it takes
- Swirl the melted chocolate gently with just a few strokes of the knife. Over-mixing turns tiger stripes into plain chocolate cookies
- Let the chocolate cool slightly before drizzling so it stays in distinct ribbons instead of melting into the dough completely
- Remove cookies from the baking sheet right away. They’ll keep crisping from residual heat and can stick if left too long
