1 hrsSix pork chops, one dish, zero fuss.
The chops get dredged in a brown sugar and flour mixture that forms a sweet crust, then braise low and slow in a sauce that hits every note: vinegar for punch, soy sauce for salt, honey for sticky sweetness, and just a whisper of sesame oil for that nutty, toasty aroma.
Onion and green bell pepper cook right alongside the meat, soaking up all that saucy goodness until everything is fork-tender.
A final sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds on top brings the crunch and makes the whole plate look like it came from somewhere fancier than your kitchen.
Kitchen Tips
- Don’t skip the brown sugar dredge. It creates a caramelized coating on the chops that thickens the sauce as it cooks.
- This recipe uses a microwave for braising, but you can adapt it for the oven. Cover tightly with foil and braise at a low temperature until the chops are tender, checking every 20 minutes.
- Toast your own sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat, shaking often, for about 2 minutes until golden. They burn fast, so stay close.
