Orange-Banana Bread recipe

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
sifted
4 teaspoons baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ cup nuts
chopped
1 ½ cups candied fruit
mixed

cup raisins, seedless
½ cup vegetable shortening

¾ cup sugar
3 large eggs
½ cup bananas
mashed
½ cup orange juice

Directions

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

Stir in chopped nuts, candied fruits, and raisins.

Cream shortening, add sugar, beat until light and fluffy.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

Combine mashed banana and orange juice; add to creamed mixture alternately with flour mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

Turn into a greased, wax-paper-lined 9x5x3 loaf pan.

Bake at 350℉ (180℃) 1¼ hours.

Cool 20 to 30 min. before turning out on cake rack.
