Chocolate Orange Ribbon Cake

A wild ribbon cake with melted Snickers bars swirled through box cake batter, orange zest in the other half, and a Snickers glaze drizzle on top. Fun, easy, unforgettable.

1 hrsSix Snickers bars walk into a cake. No, seriously. Four get melted into half the batter and two more get melted into the glaze that drizzles down the sides.
The other half of the batter gets orange zest stirred in, and then both halves get spooned alternately into the pans, creating that gorgeous marbled ribbon pattern when you slice it. Chocolate-caramel-peanut swirls running through orange-scented yellow cake.
Frost the whole thing with an orange juice frosting, then drizzle the melted Snickers glaze around the edges and let it run down the sides. It’s a box cake mix hack that delivers way beyond expectations.
Pro Tips
- Melt the Snickers bars slowly with milk on low heat, stirring constantly; the caramel and nougat can scorch easily
- Cool the melted candy mixture to room temperature before stirring into the batter so it doesn’t set up in lumps
- Alternate spoonfuls of each batter in the pans for the best ribbon effect; don’t swirl or stir them together
- This is a great use for leftover Halloween candy
