This quick and easy snack is perfect for the kids to take to school or have after dinner.

Ingredients

¾ cups brown sugar
golden brown

½ cup butter
or margarine
1 each eggs
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 ounces chocolate
pieces
½ cup walnuts
chopped

Directions

Cream together sugar and butter. Beat in egg. Stir in dry ingredients; add vanilla and mix. Fold in chocolate and nuts. Spread in greased 15x10 inch pan (this will be a thin layer of batter). Bake in 375℉ (190℃) oven 12 to 15 minutes.

Cool slightly before cutting into 48 squares.
