Chocolate Crackle Cookies

Low in Saturated Fat, Trans-fat Free, Low Sodium


2 cups sugar
¾ cup vegetable oil
¾ cup cocoa powder
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
powdered sugar


They are one of my favorite cookies, never feel enough...

First gather together these a few ingredients.

In large mixer bowl combine sugar and oil. Add cocoa; blend well. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a large bowl,
Add the eggs.
Add the cocoa powder,
and the vanilla extract.

Combine flour, baking power and salt; add to cocoa mixture blending well. Cover; chill at least 6 hours.

Add the mixture of flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir until well mixed.

Heat oven to 350℉ (180℃).

Shape dough into 1inch balls. Roll in confectioners' sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched

When the batter is ready, time to roll them into balls.
Bake at 350 degrees F oven for about 12 minutes.

Remove from cookie sheet; cool on wire rack.

Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.

You can serve them when they are still warm.
They can be kept in an air-tight container for about 1 week

Also made these chocolate crinkle cookies too. This recipe uses cocoa powder instead of unsweetened chocolate. They looked almost as same as the other ones, and the taste was slightly different but very close. You can also use sweetened chocolate as well, then reduce the amount of sugar; and you can always add 1 or 2 teaspoons of instand coffee powder to give a mocha kind of hint. Again froze the batter in the freezer for 1 hour and the cookies came out perfectly well. Will definitely make these pretty yet yummy treats again.
