These cookies have been popular at our home over years, we bake them all the time, and always turn out great!

Low Cholesterol, Trans-fat Free, Low Sodium
 

Ingredients

1 ¼ cups margarine
or butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
firmly packed

½ cup sugar
granulated
1 each eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
optional
3 cups rolled oats
uncooked, (quick or oldfashioned)
12 ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
¾ cup nuts
chopped

Directions

Heat oven to 375℉ (190℃).

Beat together margarine and sugars until light and fluffy.

Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to margarine mixture, mixing well.

Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 9 to 11 minutes.

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.

Make 6 dozens.

Store in tightly covered container.
