Heart-Healthy Canola Oil Pie Crust

 

This light and flaky single pie crust recipe uses canola oil for a healthier version of a classic favorite.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
or half whole wheat flour and half white flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons milk
½ cup canola oil

Directions

  1. Mix the ingredients together.
  2. Crumble the dough evenly over a 9-inch pie pan. Pat into place with fingers and evenly distribute the dough over the bottom of the pan and up the sides. Gently press dough into the pan.
  3. To bake the pie shell unfilled, bake at 325 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. It should be slightly golden when ready.
