OUNCES ML/G CARAMELS (CANDY SQUARES)
Kraft caramels or bits (1 bag)
2 3E+1
TABLESPOONS ML LIGHT CREAM (HALF&HALF)
or whole milk
2 1E+1
TEASPOONS ML SEA SALT
coarse, or kosher salt

Directions

  1. Spray or lightly grease a 9” x 13” glass baking pan. Spray also a rubber or silicone spatula.

  2. Place the marshmallows and margarine or butter in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH for approximately 2 minutes, until marshmallows are very soft and puffing.

  3. Using the sprayed spatula, stir into the melted marshmallows the crisped rice cereal; mix well. Transfer to the prepared pan and gently press in evenly. Let cool.

  4. While rice mixture in pan is cooling and setting up, place the caramel bits or squares (unwrapped) into a microwave-safe dish/bowl and add the half and half or milk. Microwave on HIGH for approximately 1 minute. Bits won’t look melted, but once they are stirred, they will become smooth. If not, place back in microwave for an additional 15 seconds; stir until smooth.

  5. Pour melted caramel over the rice mixture in pan and using another sprayed spatula, smooth it over the top evenly. Sprinkle with the sea salt.

  6. Once cool and completely set, cut into squares or bars and enjoy.
