35 minFive ingredients, one casserole dish, and dinner is handled. Browned ground beef gets mixed with cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, and corn with pimento, then topped with refrigerator biscuits that puff up golden and flaky in the oven.
This is the kind of recipe that gets passed around on index cards at church potlucks. Nothing fancy, nothing fussy, just hot, filling comfort food that even picky eaters will clean their plates for.
From fridge to table in about 35 minutes.
Kitchen Tips
- Drain the ground beef thoroughly after browning. Excess grease makes the filling oily and the biscuits won’t crisp on top.
- Stir the cream cheese into the hot beef mixture so it melts smoothly. Cold cream cheese in a cold mixture stays lumpy.
- Space the biscuits evenly across the top so steam can escape between them. Crowded biscuits steam instead of bake and come out doughy on the bottom.
