This is a wonderful and light dessert to offer people as a contrast to the heavy holiday meals and desserts normally offered at this time.

These delicious meatless burgers have not only pleased the vegetarians, but the meat lovers also raved about how yummy they are!

Parkin is a variety of gingerbread, good warming stuff to eat out of doors in cold weather. When I was a child, it was always a firm favourite for the firework party on Bonfire Night each year. This is adapted from my mother's recipe.

I used to make this cake when I lived in Germany back in the 80's, and it always got raves. I lost the book the recipe was in during a move, and was really glad to find the recipe here. The cake is in the oven as I write! It makes a great coffee cake in the morning or for dessert.
