This slaw is a great side dish with burgers, pulled pork, BBQ, or any succulent meaty dishes. Loved the dilled pickles in the slaw and the pickled juice in the dressing, which really accomplish the flavor. It's refreshing, and also very low in calories and fat.
It was definitely my kind of dessert, it's sweet, but too sweet; vanilla sauce gave some richness, but wasn't overwhelming. The peach-maple filling was so delicious, packed with fresh peach flavor, of course :D and the juicy filling was just oozing out loudly.
Very warm and filling. Lots of mushroom flavor and the barley was tender and plump. I used a bit of olive oil to sauté the veggies along with a healthy dose of garlic. Easy to make with easy to find ingredients, perfect for a cool fall or winter day.
Definitely a five stars recipe, my husband made it yesterday for lunch. Nutmeg gave the extra zing, and the flavor was absolutely delicious, I couldn't stop eating it. We just finished the leftover for lunch, and it was even better. Strongly recommend this recipe to everyone!
This healthier version of chocolate zucchini rum cake is made with whole wheat flour, grape seed oil, apple sauce, a small amount of butter. Also has much less sugar than the original recipe, and the cake is super moist, packed with chocolate flavor and absolutely divine.
Excellent, absolutely a good way to use up the leftover cranberry sauce, and honey works very well with other ingredients; love the nutty flavor from whole wheat flour and bran, and the citrus taste from the orange juice, you can even add extra orange zests in.
These waffles were super light just like the name. I made my own self-rising flour with whole wheat flour, and the waffles still came out light and fluffy. We had them with a homemade raspberry sauce and maple candied almonds. An excellent choice of breakfast.
Even the sweet potato/yam "dis-liker" (me) liked the flavor of these. Nice little bite from the cayenne. And the amount of sugar was just right. I don't care for really "sweet" yam dishes at all! Thanks for this addition to our holiday dinner. (Part of my "Thanksgiving 2010" Menu)
Moist, banana-y, and chocolaty. There are lots of deliciousness in this banana bread, and the best thing is that it's also full of goodness. It's made from applesauce, whole wheat flour, small amount of butter and oil, chocolate chips and walnuts. There are so many yummy ingredients going on, you will enjoy every bite!
The third time we made our own pita bread, this time I ground some sunflower and pumpkin seeds and added into the dough with the white sesame seeds, also added some sun-dried tomatoes, the pita bread didn't puff up too much like last time, but the flavor and the texture were both excellent. We really loved the flavor from the nuts and sun-dried tomatoes.
Easy to make, and it was delicious as well as packed with good-for-you ingredients. Will be making it again soon.
Caribou and pork sausage with grated potato mixed right into the grind. Allspice and cayenne bring warmth while the potato keeps every link moist and hearty.
Fresh apricots cooked down with raisins, onions, and warming spices into a thick, tangy chutney that needs at least a month to age before serving.
There are tasty bars, and very healthy too, a lot of fibire and other nutrition.
Cuban black-eyed pea fritters fried golden, spiked with garlic and hot chili. Vegan, dairy-free, and the kind of crackling street snack meant to be eaten hot off the paper towel.
Murgh Musallam, a home-style Indian chicken curry with whole cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and cloves simmered with yogurt and fresh chilies. The authentic recipe that makes jarred curry powder irrelevant.
