Directions

Simmer ham shanks in water 1½ to 2 hours or until meat falls off bones.

Remove bones.

Add sausage. Simmer 20 to 30 minutes. Add carrots, onions, tomatoes and tomato sauce, cook until carrots are at parboil stage.

Add potatoes, beans, cabbage and seasonings.

Simmer until vegetables are done.
