Real semi-sweet chocolate gets melted with sugar and hot water, then stirred into two quarts of milk and beaten frothy with vanilla. Chill it down, pour it over scoops of vanilla ice cream, and hit it with a splash of club soda for fizzy lift.
Top each cup with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. Kids will lose their minds. Adults will pretend it’s for the kids while going back for thirds.
This is birthday party, holiday open house, and movie night material all in one bowl.
Kitchen Tips
- Chill the chocolate milk base thoroughly before adding ice cream, or the ice cream will melt too fast and thin out the punch
- Add the club soda just before serving so it keeps its fizz
- For an adults-only version, stir in a splash of Kahlua or Baileys
- Use a melon baller to scoop small, uniform ice cream balls that float nicely in the punch bowl
