Directions

In a large bowl, mash beans until most are smooth, leaving some intact.

Add onion, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, cumin, sesame seeds, lime juice, salt, and pepper; mix well.

Divide mixture into 8 equal patties about 3½ inches in diameter.

In a large, heavy frying pan, heat oil over medium-low heat.

Cook patties in batches for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once and adding more oil if necessary.

Carefully remove burgers from the frying pan to platter and tent with foil.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
