Booya or booyah is popular the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota, and in Northeast Wisconsin. The dish is said to have originally consisted of mostly turtle meat and cabbage, although such things as chicken and oxtails and rutabagas and potatoes have always had a prominent role. The term seems to have first appeared in print in the 1880s.
My Italian husband uses this filling to make tortellini at home, and it's by far the most delicious filling. He does change the meat around, and we love them all! It's freezer friendly, so we usually make a bunch.
A tasty and scrumptious lasagna made with ground beef and a variety of spices and cheese which gives it a rich taste.
There are so many kinds of pesto, basil, sun-dried tomatoes, cilantro... how about some freshly home-made asparagus pesto, the refreshing and tasty flavor is a perfect sauce to toss with some pasta.
Made this for supper tonight, so easy and tasted delicious. Used whole wheat pasta to make it a bit healthier, a definite 5-star one pot meal.
