8 hrsFour pounds of shrimp, boiled with lemon until pink, then dunked in a spicy, herb-packed oil marinade for eight glorious hours. That’s the whole game plan, and the payoff is huge.
Hot sauce and Old Bay bring the heat while basil, oregano, thyme, and parsley layer in enough herbaceous depth to keep you reaching back for one more.
The overnight soak means every single shrimp is saturated with flavor, not just coated on the surface.
Set these out at your next cookout or game day spread and watch the platter empty in minutes.
Kitchen Tips
- Don’t skip the overnight marinate. A quick dip won’t cut it. The full eight hours lets the spices and heat penetrate the shrimp completely.
- Boil the shrimp in the shells, then peel after chilling. The shells protect the meat from getting rubbery during cooking.
- Drain well before serving. The oil marinade is packed with flavor but nobody wants a puddle on their plate.
