Directions

Crumble beef into slow-cooking pot.

Add pepper, oregano, basil, seasoned salt and dry onion soup mix.

Stir in 3 cups boiling water, tomato sauce and soy sauce, then add celery and carrots.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

Turn control on high.

Add cooked macaroni and parmesan cheese.

Cover and cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes.

Other vegetables may be added, if desired.

Do you brown the beef first? Or put it raw into the crockpot?

We actually browned the beef first, which gave the dish more flavor. But the recipe itself doesn't require to do so. Either way works.

This looked so good! Until I read "onion soup mix" GACK! I would never ruin a good dish with that awful tasting stuff!! ICK ICK ICK! :)

Don't know what the ick is all about, it is a shortcut for seasoning, or just use some beefstock or bullioncubes for the seasoning, I think it is a great recipe.
