Crock Pot Lentil Curry


A simple but delicious curry dish that gets its unique and amazing flavor from the variety of herbs and spices its made with.













Low Fat, Low in Saturated Fat, Low Cholesterol, Cholesterol-Free, Trans-fat Free, High Fiber


2 cups lentils, green
1 cup lentils, red (masoor dal)
4 each potatoes
red, washed, chopped
½ cup pearl barley
2 each onions
4 each garlic
cloves, minced
4 cups water
2 tablespoons curry powder
or more, to taste
1 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons soy sauce, tamari
2 cups cabbage
2 cups vegetable stock
4 cups basmati rice
or regular, cooked


Put all ingredients except rice into the crockpot.

Stir well to mix thoroughly.

Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours.

Serve with rice.

The recipe is confusing. Directions say put all ingredients into the pot. But then it says to serve with the rice. So is it served on additional rice? Or should directions say not to put the rice in the pot?

Thanks for your comment, just edited the direction: it should put all ingredients except rice into the crock-pot, and the rice should be served at the end with cooked lentil curry. Enjoy!
