Amazing Spiced Chick Peas
I love these spiced chick peas. It was so tasty, and very easy to make. I cooked the mixture a little longer, just wanted a thicker consistency, and I served it with toasted pita bread. YUM!
Ingredients

onions
finely chopped |

coriander
ground |

cumin
ground |

1 | teaspoon |
turmeric
ground |

796 | millilitres |
tomatoes, canned with juice
diced, 1 can |

chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
1 can, drained and rinsed |

½ | cup |
cilantro
lightly packed, freshly coasely chopped |
Directions
Heat oil, garlic and onion in a large sauce pan oven medium heat for about 3 minutes.
Stir in ground coriander, cumin, turmeric and salt to taste.
Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add tomatoes and cook on medium heat, stirring often, about 5 minutes.
Add chick peas, turn heat into medium or medium low and simmer, partially covered, for about 15 minutes.
Stirring occasionally.
Stir in cilantro leaves, about 30 seconds.
Remove from the heat.
Serve over rice or pita bread.
