I had this Greek pastry for the first time in a restaurant and I was not overly thrilled with it. So when I ran across this recipe and saw how easy is was to make I decided to try it. I liked my version much better, which will no doubt cause an uproar. So to anyone who has tried this dessert I want you to make this one and let me know if you like it, maybe it tastes nothing like it is suppose to.

You heard it right, these brownies are made with black beans, so they are totally gluten free, super moist, and good for you. The additional chocolate chips and walnuts on top add extra deliciousness to these irresistible treats.

So quick and easy to put together, and it tastes delicious with a good amount of flavorful sauce that's perfect with a bed of rice. Don't have Chinese cabbage? Use bok choy or other similar leafy greens, or even broccoli instead.

Not your tradional "fudgy" brownies, they have the warm and rich cocoa taste and are more "cake-like."

The balsamic-honey glaze gives the earthy beets a nicely caramelized flavor that goes very well with peppery arugula and creamy goat cheese. The toasted walnuts adds the nutty flavor and crunchy texture, which is well paired with the dried cranberries or cherries. A delicious combination and refreshing salad.

NOTE: I think paste food color works better than liquid food coloring when tinting cookie dough. It's available in specialty markets and some party stores. Be careful: A little goes a long, long way.
