1 hrsThese are the kind of chocolate bars that vanish from the pan before you even find a place to set them down.
A buttery cocoa crumb crust gets a layer of melted chocolate chips swirled with sweetened condensed milk, then the whole thing is topped with more crumbs, more chips, and a generous scattering of chopped nuts.
The result? Fudgy, crunchy, gooey all at once.
They make 36 bars, which sounds like a lot until you realize half of them disappear during the cooling process. Bring them to a tailgate, a potluck, or a Super Bowl party and watch them go.
Chef Tips
- Cut the margarine or butter into the flour mixture while it’s still cold for the best crumbly texture
- Don’t skip the 10-minute pre-bake of the crust. It sets the base so it stays firm under all that fudgy filling
- Let them cool completely before cutting. Warm bars will crumble and stick to the knife
- Use walnuts or pecans for the best flavor with chocolate
