Superb Spaghetti Sauce

A very simple, yummy spaghetti recipe for anyone to make or enjoy! Serving sizes are half a cup each.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef
or bulk Italian pork sausage
2 large onions
chopped, 2 cups
2 cups mushrooms
freshly sliced, optional, 6 ounces
3 cloves garlic
finely chopped
28 ounces tomatoes, canned
Muir Glen organic diced, undrained, 1 can
30 ounces tomato sauce
2 cans
6 ounces tomato paste
1 can
1 tablespoon basil
dried leaves
1 teaspoon oregano
dried
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
crushed, optional

Directions

Spray 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.

In 12-inch skillet cook meat, onions, mushrooms, and garlic over medium heat for about ten minutes.

Stir occasionally until the meat is no longer pink, and then drain (if using slow cooker. If not, leave in skillet).

If using slow cooker, spoon meat mixture into cooker and stir in the remaining ingredients.

Cover and cook on low heat setting for eight to nine hours.

If not, keep the mixture in skillet and then stir in the other ingredients.

Cover and cook at a light broil until ready to serve; use your best judgement.
