Directions
Remove apple peel, core and stems. Cut them into small pieces. Place them in a small saucepan and add 1 cup water and lemon juice. Stir to combine everything – this will prevent the apples from browning. Then drain the liquid.
After that, place the sugar and remaining ¾ cup of water in a medium-sized heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat and simmer until sugar dissolves. Add apple and cinnamon powder. Mix well. Cook slowly until the apple is completely soft. Add vanilla. Mix well and then remove from heat.
Apple sauce is ready. Serve warm or cold. It is delicious with ice cream or yogurt. Your choice.
