This is the microwave recipe that’ll change your weeknight dinner game. You arrange salmon and vegetables on a dinner plate (slower-cooking veggies around the fish, quick-cooking ones on top), cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for exactly 4 minutes. That’s it.

The plastic wrap traps steam so everything cooks through perfectly without drying out. Season with salt and pepper after cooking, and you’ve got a complete, healthy meal with zero pots or pans to wash.

It’s almost too easy to believe until you try it.

Pro Tips

  • Use vegetables with similar cooking times together (carrots and broccoli around the edges, spinach or peas on top)
  • Cover tightly with microwave-safe plastic wrap, leaving one corner vented for steam
  • Cook at 100% power for 4 minutes (adjust time if your microwave runs hot or cold)
  • Let it rest 1 minute after cooking so fish finishes cooking with residual heat
  • Season generously with salt and pepper since microwave cooking doesn’t concentrate flavors like other methods
