20 minRemember the thrill of baking your very first cake with a lightbulb? This one’s for the next generation of little bakers.
Just three tablespoons of any cake mix stirred with a tablespoon of milk is all it takes. Grease the tiny pan, pour in the batter, and let the Easy Bake Oven work its magic.
Fifteen minutes later, out pops a warm mini cake that your kiddo made all by themselves.
It’s not about fancy technique. It’s about the proud grin on a five-year-old’s face when they pull out something they baked.
Kitchen Tips
- Any cake mix works. Chocolate, vanilla, funfetti, whatever’s in the pantry. Use what they’re excited about.
- Grease the pan well. A thin coat of butter or cooking spray keeps the tiny cake from sticking, which avoids tears at the unmolding stage.
- Let it cool a minute. The pan is small but it’s still hot. Give it a brief rest before little hands get involved.
