Directions

Preheat the oven to 350℉ (180℃).

Line 12-cup muffin tin with paper-liners or grease with butter or cooking spray. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and baking powder until well combined.

In a small bowl, whisk the bananas, oil and egg until well blended.

Pour the banana mixture into the flour mixture, stir until just moistened.

Fold in the chocolate chips. Fill muffin cups three-forths full.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Remove from the oven, and let muffins cool in tin on a wire rack for about 5 minutes.

Transfer the muffins from the tin to the wire rack and cool completely.
