Directions

Pour cornmeal into a bowl.

Carefully pour boiling water into cornmeal, stirring to ensure it is smooth.

Let stand to cool for about 30 minutes.

Stir in molasses, salt, and butter. Place the yeast, bread flour, and cornmeal mixture in the pan in that order.

Select the white bread setting of your bread machine and press “Start."

I've been making this bread for years. I don't boil the water, I just mix the cornmeal with room temperature water along with the salt, oil (or butter or applesauce), and molasses and it works fine.
