Bread and Butter Microwave Pickles
This was my grandmother's recipe and it is to die for. It's a twist on the traditional Pickled Cucumber...nom nom =)
Ingredients
2 | medium |
cucumbers
sliced to 1/4 inch |

1 | cup |
sugar
|
|
1 | medium |
white onion
sliced to 1/4 inch |
|
½ | cup |
vinegar
|
|
½ | teaspoon |
salt
|
|
¼ | teaspoon |
turmeric
|
* |
¼ | teaspoon |
dry mustard
|
* |
¼ | teaspoon |
celery salt
|
Directions
Mix all ingredients in microwave safe bowl.
Microwave for five minutes.
Remove and mix again.
Microwave for five more minutes.
Put in covered container and refrigerate for an hour before eating.
Keeps for several days...and of course is great on bread with butter.
