Hot coffee gets a generous shot of amaretto liqueur, then crowned with a swirl of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for retro Italian cafe flair.

It’s basically a boozy coffee that tastes like liquid almond tiramisu, ready in the time it takes to brew a cup.

Serve it with a spoon so you can eat the cream-soaked cherry at the end.

Chef Tips

  • Fresh hot coffee: Use freshly brewed hot coffee for the best flavor; reheated coffee tastes stale and won’t complement the amaretto.
  • Real whipped cream: Skip the aerosol can and use real whipped cream if you can; it tastes richer and holds its shape better on hot coffee.
