The day we made this recipe, our friend happened to come over, and she had a simple dinner with us. This was the main course, served with warm naan bread. She just loved it. Also it was so quick and easy to make. A great week-night meal.

I used a whole wheat blend of pasta/spaghetti. I cut back some on the olive oil and used smart balance blend instead of butter. I also only used 1 tsp of the crushed red pepper for my children's palate and it seemed fine.
Fresh or frozen strawberries, both work well here, and the shortbread like crust on top gives the nice crunch with the soaked in strawberry juice. It is full of fresh strawberry flavor, and it is so refreshing and tasty. A great fruity dessert.
