A tasty make ahead vegetarian burger mix. Make in advance and have vege burgers ready in a flash for a quick and healthy snack or meal.
These crunchy vegetables make a refreshing and delicious salad. If you have your own vegetable garden, they are the easiest vegetables to grow. Or find them in the grocery store.
Potatoes, green beans, bacon and mushrooms in a creamy sauce for your slow cooker.
The flavor was great. Made a few dishes with these refried black beans, burrito and two different multiple-layer dips. Homemade is always the way to go. If you have never tried refried black beans, certainly should add this one to "to-do" list.
In Italian, “crostini” means “little toasts.” Crostini are made by slicing a French or Italian bread stick or baguette. Then rubbing with garlic and olive oil and toasting or grilling until crisp. The crostini may be drizzled with olive oil and salt and served plain, or they may be dressed with a variety of toppings and popped into the oven or broiler until warm.
A very different twist on tradional pasta/macaroni salad. Loaded with ingredients, this could be a meal in itself.
Very moist and fluffy inside, golden brown outside; sour cream added the extra moist and tangy flavor, I used 3/4 cup of brown sugar, and I thought it was the right sweetness. If you have some ripe bananas on hand or you love banana bread, I will definitely recommend this recipe.
Juicy chicken breast stuffed with cheese, shallots and cheese. The phyllo really helps hold in the moisture to keep the chicken breast moist. This is a reduced fat version of a popular recipe and it's equally as tasty in my opinion. If you wish to reduce the fat even further omit the cheese altogether.
A classic German style potato salad that is served warm. Perfect for Octoberfest.
Meatloaf for the slow cooker, beef and turkey with oats and veggies for some better flavors.
If you can't find orange cake mix, use white or golden---just use orange juice in place of the water when preparing the mix, and add 1 tsp. of orange extract/flavoring. To the topping I also add 3/4 tsp. each of vanilla and orange extract. Garnish, if desired, with Mandarin orange segments.
Hearty winter meal that warms you to your toes! Any leftovers can be used next day for lunch or a side dish for dinner.
Slow-cooked beef patties in a creamy mushroom and onion gravy. Real comfort food.
Even the sweet potato/yam "dis-liker" (me) liked the flavor of these. Nice little bite from the cayenne. And the amount of sugar was just right. I don't care for really "sweet" yam dishes at all! Thanks for this addition to our holiday dinner. (Part of my "Thanksgiving 2010" Menu)
