1 hrsPicture cinnamon rolls and apple pie having a love child, then drizzling the whole thing in warm fudge sauce. That’s this roly-poly.
A quick biscuit dough gets rolled out, stuffed with chopped apples, pecans, and raisins, then sliced into pinwheels and baked in a pool of apple juice and pie filling syrup. They puff up golden and sticky while the liquid bubbles into a sweet, spiced sauce underneath.
A dusting of powdered sugar and a zigzag of warm fudge on top turns these into a showstopper dessert that smells like fall itself walked into your kitchen.
Kitchen Tips
- Use a serrated knife to slice the roll. A straight blade will crush the soft dough and push the filling out.
- Space the slices evenly in the pan so they puff up without crowding into each other.
- Let them cool about 20 minutes before serving. The syrup thickens as it cools and the rolls hold together better.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you really want to go all in.
