Sameena's Cranberry Bliss Bars

At a retirement party for a school district friend, I had the opportunity to taste a very delicious dessert bar. Sameena has shared this tasty recipe and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Ready

Ingredients

1 pkg Nestle Toll House White Chip Macadamia Nut cookie dough, divided
1 cup whole berry canned cranberry sauce
1 T. corn starch
1/2 cup Nestle Toll House Premiere White Morsels
4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
2 T. butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sweetened, dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped, candied walnuts (optional)

Ingredients

1 pkg Nestle Toll House White Chip Macadamia Nut cookie dough, divided
1 cup whole berry canned cranberry sauce
1 T. corn starch
1/2 cup Nestle Toll House Premiere White Morsels
4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
2 T. butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sweetened, dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped, candied walnuts (optional)

Directions

Directions PREHEAT oven to 350º F. Grease 8-inch-square baking pan.

PRESS ¾ package (18 squares) cookie dough into prepared baking pan. Refrigerate remaining ¼ package (6 squares) cookie dough.

BAKE for 12 minutes; remove from oven to wire rack.

COMBINE cranberry sauce and cornstarch in small bowl; spread over base. Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cookie dough and morsels; press down gently.

BAKE for an additional 20 to 22 minutes or until edges are brown and top is set. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

BEAT cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar in small mixer bowl until smooth. Spread over cooled base. Sprinkle with cranberries. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Cut into 16 bars. Store in covered container in refrigerator.

Cook's Note: 1. I wanted to double the recipe, so I used two packages of the White Chip Macadamia Nut cookie dough and pressed it into a 13 x 9 " pan. As it was thicker than the original recipe, cooking times were longer. I doubled the quantity of cranberry sauce, corn starch (2 heaping Tablespoons), and white chocolate chips.

  1. Instead of making the cream cheese frosting from scratch, I used a purchased cream cheese frosting. I sprinkled the dried cranberries and chopped, candied walnuts over the frosted bars.

This recipe is scrumptuous!
