Perfect Paleo Citrus Cranberry Sauce

 

Sugar sugar and more sugar is the main ingredient in most cranberry sauces. Following the paleo diet gives you the healthier upper hand for making your own sugar-free sauce with fresh cranberries.

Ingredients

12 ounces cranberries
fresh, 1 bag
2 large oranges
1 each lemon
zest only
½ cup orange juice
plus 1 cup extra
2 tablespoons palm sugar
coconut

3 tablespoons honey
¼ teaspoon allspice
*
½ teaspoon cinnamon
ground

Directions

Place cranberries in a medium sauce pan.

Grate the zest of both oranges and lemon over the cranberries.

Juice both oranges, making sure to remove seeds, and add to cranberries.

Add the extra orange juice to cover cranberries.

Add the rest of ingredients and simmer over medium high heat for about 10 minutes.

The cranberries will burst when done, blend them together into the sauce using a whisk or spoon.

Cool and serve!
